自杀/厌世黑金属（ Suicidal/Depressive Black Metal）是黑金属的一种分支风格，是由挪威著名的自杀黑金属乐队 Burzum 乐队创建的音乐，音乐其实并不是以自杀为主体，音乐内容充满着忧郁悲凉，节奏紧凑粗糙刺耳令人感到窒息，自杀/厌世黑金属又称氛围黑金属，黑金属发展到今天，自杀黑金属已经成为一种比传统黑金属更加极端的黑金属音乐。如果说残酷死亡金属和碾核是一种以血腥病态的内容和音乐节奏的极端音乐，那么自杀/厌世黑金属可以说是以冰冷、刺耳旋律，忧郁悲凉内容走向另一个极端的音乐（可以说这种风格和葬礼厄运金属是并驾齐驱的冷、悲派极端金属音乐），在这里也有一点关于自杀/厌世黑金属的基本讨论可供借鉴

自杀/厌世黑金属区别于传统黑金属以及其他风格黑金属音乐大概有一下几点：

（1）演唱的方法，同是使用黑嗓演唱但自杀黑金属主唱演唱时后音拉的要比传统黑金属演唱长一些，演唱出非常痛苦的声音

（2）音乐节奏：自杀黑金属的音乐节奏不全是高速的金属，通常是在一段高速的节奏后然后慢慢的放慢，有时会有键盘的加入烘托气氛，一般以中快速/中速节奏为主

（3）音乐内容，大多数黑金属的内容都以撒旦/反基督为主，自杀黑金属的内容常常都是概念化的以悲凉的故事为主
